Shelly Richardson
Owner, Coordinator

Meet Shelly!

Shelly Richardson is the owner and originator of Event Design. She became a licensed wedding planner through the American Academy of Wedding Professionals in 2011 and Event Design became a reality. Shelly is a skilled artist and received her Bachelors degree in Art and Art History from UNL in 2009. Shelly knows the ins and outs of virtually every aspect of the wedding industry. She has experience in floral arrangements, ballroom dancing, major concert planning, as well as was an onsite event coordinator at many large Lincoln venues. Through her experience, Shelly has a vast knowledge of which companies will best serve you! There is no length too far that she will not jump to make sure your day is perfect beyond words.

Teresa Brandt


Meet Teresa!

Teresa has been an Event Design team member for 3 years now. Compassion and Hard work are no strangers to Teresa who is very involved with horses and 4H in her free time. She does not hesitate to roll up her sleeves and  dive into what needs to be done. Teresa has an exceptional talent for reading the flow of an event to predict potential problems and prevent them. She is extremely resourceful and carries an amazingly positive and confident attitude. Teresa is the perfect gal for any job because of her quick problem solving abilities, and her drive to ensure everything is perfect for her clients.

Reya Tuncan

Meet Reya!

Reya has been one of our lead Day of Coordinators for years. She is just one of those people you will be excited to have on your team to get you through every hurdle you might face. Reya has a degree in Hospitality Management from UNL. She has also worked for some of Lincoln's top catering and rental businesses. Reya is not afraid to think outside the box to make your wedding something every guest at your wedding will remember. Reya has spent a lot of time this past year planning her own wedding. Between learning from her experience with Event Design and facing her own personal challenge of making her own special day perfect, we know she will put just as much work into making your day just as wonderful as her own!

Grace Niemeyer


Meet Grace!

Grace is a student at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO majoring in Public Relations with emphasis on Event Planning. From the first day she came to Event Design, she showed initiative and was fearless in solving any problem that would arise. Not only quick on her feet, Grace is organized, crafty, friendly, enthusiastic and a people pleaser! Other vendors love when she is coordinating their client's event, knowing it will be stress-free. As a small town girl from Courtland, NE, she understands that it's not things, but "moments" that bring absolute joy. Her confidence and eagerness has a way of making anyone comfortable around her, and she will treat you as family from day one.

Andrea Brown


Meet Andrea!

It's hard not to fall in love with Andrea's sweet nature. A true delight to be around, Andrea has a heart for pleasing people. After being with Event Design for 2 years, she's proved to be strong and lightening quick when faced with a challenge. Andrea is very timely and keeps everything on track, while still maintaining a fun and lively atmosphere. Stresses all melt away when Andrea is in charge of an event. A loving mother of 6, she is beyond talented at multitasking, and highly skilled at defusing any chaotic situation while remaining professional and calm. There are few things she hasn't seen and solved personally. You are in excellent hands with Andrea as your coordinator!

Krystal Taylor


Meet Krystal! 

Krystal has been working as one of our lead day of coordinators for the past few years. She has planned gorgeous weddings, across the spectrum of themes. From outdoor "rustic", to upscale romantic, this girl can make it happen! Krystal has a Hospitality Management degree from UNL. She has also worked in restaurant management for events, as well as a lead coordinator for events at a popular local dance hall. She has plenty of experience making sure every guest is happy and being taken care of. Krystal is known for being organized and prepared for any situation! She has every tool under the sun to handle any emergency that may happen throughout the day. She always has everything under control and you can be confident that you are in good hands when she is in charge of your day. 


Event Design is proud to be recognized as founder and official member of the Nebraska Wedding Vendors Association. The NWVA does not take membership or subscription fees. It is a free website featuring only wedding related businesses across Nebraska that qualify for a listing by meeting and sustaining a high level of industry standards.
