Meet Shelly!
Shelly Richardson is the owner and originator of Event Design. She became a licensed wedding planner through the American Academy of Wedding Professionals in 2011 and Event Design became a reality. Shelly is a skilled artist and received her Bachelors degree in Art and Art History from UNL in 2009. Shelly knows the ins and outs of virtually every aspect of the wedding industry. She has experience in floral arrangements, ballroom dancing, major concert planning, as well as was an onsite event coordinator, advisor, and manager for many large venues in Lincoln and surrounding areas. In 2014 she started the Nebraska Wedding Vendors Association that brings together over 800 vendors across Nebraska and growing. In 2020 she was selected to be on the board of Advisors for UNL’s Hospitality and Tourism Management. Through her experience, Shelly has a vast knowledge of which companies will best serve you! There is no length too far that she will not jump to make sure your day is perfect beyond words.

From her first day at Event Design, Grace showed initiative and was fearless in solving any problem that would arise. Not only is she quick on her feet, Grace is organized, crafty, friendly, enthusiastic and a people pleaser! Other vendors love when she is coordinating their client's event, knowing it will be stress-free. As a small town girl from Cortland, NE, she understands that it's not things, but moments that bring absolute joy. Her confidence and eagerness has a way of making anyone comfortable around her, and she will treat you as family from day one.

Known for her sharp eye for detail and quick thinking under pressure, Olivia has a gift for transforming your vision into a seamless reality. She truly listens to your hopes for the day, and works behind the scenes with care, precision, and grace to make it all happen — so you can stay present and soak up every moment.

Krystal Taylor

Meet Krystal!
Krystal has been one of our trusted lead day-of coordinators for years, and her expertise shines through at every event she touches. With a degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, she brings both education and real-world experience to the table — including time spent in restaurant event management and as a lead coordinator at one of Lincoln’s most beloved dance halls.
From rustic outdoor ceremonies to elegant, upscale affairs, Krystal has seen (and styled) it all. Her ability to adapt to any theme — and any last-minute challenge — makes her a true asset to your wedding day.
